Personal Injury Lawyer Wilmington NC | Houser Injury Law

Jackie Houser - Dedicated Legal Representation

Jackie Houser

Principal Attorney and Owner

Jackie Houser didn’t begin her legal career as an attorney. She worked her way there, first as a legal secretary, then as a paralegal and paralegal instructor, before achieving her lifelong goal of becoming a lawyer. Today, she is a North Carolina personal injury attorney and the founder of Houser Injury Law, representing injured people and families from the firm’s offices in Wilmington and Goldsboro.

Jackie’s desire to become an attorney began when she was a young girl, and she accompanied her parents to a meeting with a lawyer. What stayed with her wasn’t the legal discussion. It was the relief she saw in her parents afterward.

That experience shaped the kind of attorney Jackie wanted to become: someone who could give people answers, help them understand their options, and guide them through some of the most difficult circumstances of their lives.

After earning her law degree from Liberty University School of Law, Jackie returned to the insurance defense firm where she had previously worked as a paralegal as an attorney. There, she represented the other side of personal injury claims and gained firsthand experience with how insurance companies evaluate, defend, and attempt to minimize claims.

That experience now gives Jackie a valuable perspective when representing injured people. She understands how insurers analyze claims, where they look for weaknesses, and the arguments they may use to reduce or deny compensation.

Having worked on the defense side, Jackie knows what may be coming before an insurance company makes its next move. She uses that experience to anticipate defenses, identify weaknesses gaps in the insurer’s position, and build stronger cases for her clients.

Jackie’s practice focuses on personal injury and workers’ compensation throughout eastern North Carolina. She represents individuals and families in cases involving car accidents, commercial truck accidents, motorcycle accidents, boating accidents, workplace injuries, premises liability, defective products, nursing home abuse, catastrophic injuries, and wrongful death.

With more than 40 years of experience in the legal profession, Jackie has earned the respect of both her clients and her peers. Her work has been recognized with honors including being named a “Top 5 Personal Injury Attorney” by Business Rate (2026), a “Top 100 Trial Lawyer” by The National Trial Lawyers, and a “Top 25 Motor Vehicle Trial Lawyer.” Jackie is also a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, a distinction recognizing attorneys who have achieved million-dollar and multi-million-dollar verdicts or settlements.

As the founding attorney of Houser Injury Law, Jackie remains personally involved in every case the firm accepts. She serves as the lead attorney on every caseeach matter and believes clients should have meaningful access to the attorney responsible for representing them.

Jackie understands that clients often come to her during one of the worst periods of their lives. Her goal is to shoulder the legal burden, give them honest answers, and fight for an outcome that helps them move forward.

With that in mind, she personally selects the team around her and builds Houser Injury Law around a straightforward philosophy: people come first. Every client deserves compassion, respect, honest transparent communication, and a legal team that remembers there is a person and a family behind every case.

Jackie’s roots in eastern North Carolina run deeper than her legal practice. Through Houser Injury Law’s offices in Wilmington and Goldsboro, she remains actively involved in the communities the firm serves. Her community involvement includes volunteering with Good Shepherd Center, supporting adoptable pets through PawPrints Magazine, and participating in local initiatives such as school-supply and bookbag drives, Habitat for Humanity, and Shop With a Cop.

I can wiggle my ears!
My childhood nickname was “String Bean” obviously because of my long, lanky frame. Today a more appropriate nickname would be Butter Bean.
